Phelan Burgoyne REBOP Quintet featuring…

JAZZ LEGEND JORGE ROSSY

TWO NIGHTS OF CUTTING EDGE CONTEMPORARY BEBOP

REBOP sees Jazz legend Jorge Rossy (Brad Mehldau, Steve Swallow, Joshua Redman) join forces with four rising stars of the European Jazz Scene in a collaborative, cooperatively led quintet. Each band-member is also a composer in their own right contributing original material to the band growing song book encompassing swinging post bop, contempt jazz, Brazilian music and the blues. This truly international (with members currently based in Hamburg, Amsterdam, London, Istanbul and Barcelona) was formed in 2017 after all meeting on Rossy’s Jazz summer camp in Spain. REBOP have made several tours of the UK, Spain and Germany and released their debut record “Introducing" at the London Jazz Festival in 2018 on the Swiss Unit Label to critical acclaim.

Jorge Rossy is internationally recognized as one of the most influential drummers of his generation. His sideman work includes over 80 recordings with renowned jazz musicians Brad Mehldau, Ethan Iverson, Kevin Hays, Albert Sanz, Mark Turner, Chris Cheek, Seamus Blake, Joshua Redman, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Steve Swallow, among many others. Jorge has also toured with some jazz greats including Charlie Haden, Wayne Shorter, Lee Konitz, Carla Bley, and Joe Lovano.

"A rising Jazz talent - It’s plain to hear why Burgoyne’s reputation has found its present momentum."
